Camper of the Day
Each day at Sport Camps, a camper is recognized in a fun awards presentation and given special privileges for the day. Recognition of the Camper of the Day (COTD) is based on effort, athleticism, attitude or positive contribution to the camp community.

Denita Dyck discovered her passion for coaching at Bethany Sports Camps 10 years ago. She now returns to BSC as Head Basketball Instructor with a Masters in Coaching from the University of Victoria and experience coaching college women’s basketball at Bethany College (2001-2004) and Redeemer University (2005-2008). She is currently an Associate Coach with Canada Basketball, teaching the national basketball team curriculum to the top high school athletes in Canada (2008-present). Coach Denita also teaches P.E. classes at a Christian University, is the head coach for the regional midget basketball program, is on the national Special Olympics advisory committee for coach development, and is a kinesiologist doing injury assessment. She has high expectations of her athletes in character and in competition, and is a well-respected coach with a strong ability to mentor her athletes. Coach Denita’s coaching style is player-centred, having been trained extensively in empowering players to understand concepts. Her overall goal in coaching is that all athletes leave as better players with better character.
